Life throws up lots of challenges (and changes) and counselling can help you to navigate these and to work out your way forward. Anxiety, addiction, bereavement, loss, depression, relationship breakdown, self-esteem - these are all examples of issues I am trained to work with as a qualified counsellor.
About me and my practice
As a male counsellor, I can be of support to male clients who feel like they want to speak to another male - I would very much welcome enquiries from anyone interested in counselling.
I understand many aspects of mental health. For example, I have lived experience of grief: everyone is touched by loss at some point within their lives and it can be life-changing. Counselling can help to process grief and I can be alongside you as you share whatever is on your mind.
Other issues that clients have brought to sessions have included: anxiety, depression, family issues, relationship breakdowns, financial problems, gender and sexuality; my professional training and personal empathy will ensure I treat your story with respect.
As a gay man, I have extensive experience of working with the LGBTQ community and an understanding of issues specific to them. I have been a volunteer counsellor with the LGBT Foundation in Manchester and MIND in Rochdale.
Also, I have a background of working in the media so I understand many aspects of that industry and I can support individuals experiencing stress or related issues within TV, radio, film, web-publishing or related industries.
Whatever your background, please get in touch to find out how I could support you.
Experience
I have been in private practice for over 2 years.
I have been involved in volunteer counselling for a number of years, having volunteered with MIND, The LGBT Foundation and also with Childline.
